If you’re wondering whether God will accept your repentance, you’re not alone. You may ask, “Have I truly been forgiven?” or “Is my repentance sincere enough?” This uncertainty can leave you anxious and distant from God.

The Bible offers a powerful message of God’s mercy, assuring us of His willingness to forgive completely. Unlike other religions, the Bible promises that through Jesus, forgiveness is absolutely certain.


1. God’s Desire to Forgive You

The Bible emphasizes that God’s character is defined by His love, mercy, and desire to forgive. He does not want anyone to remain in guilt or condemnation. In the Old Testament, God reveals His heart of mercy to the people of Israel:

“The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.” — Psalm 103:8

God accepted David’s repentance, not because David was perfect, but because David’s heart was sincerely seeking God.

In the New Testament, Jesus tells the Parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32). The rebellious son squanders his inheritance and returns to his father in shame. Instead of punishment, the father runs to embrace him. This story illustrates that God eagerly restores those who come back to Him with humble hearts.


3. Jesus: God's Guarantee of Complete Forgiveness
